CHURCH REVITALIZATION
The purpose of the revitalization process is to help a local church experience new life and effectiveness. The revitalization process involves a close working partnership between the association and a church seeking to be revitalized. The association provides leadership in helping the church identify and implement keystone strategies to maximize effectiveness and promote growth.
Identification Stage
What pastors and churches might be open to the revitalization process?
Pray for the pastors and churches that will be contacted
Contact pastor and ask to set up a meeting to discuss the opportunity
Set time for pastor to get back with the association
Evaluation Stage
Is there a desire to change?
Is there an ability to change?
Assessment Stage
What resources are available from the church?
What resources are available from the association?
What other resources are available?
Implementation Stage
Determine church reputation – community survey
Demographic study – association to provide
Vision casting – from pastor and revitalization leadership
Establish specific plans and timeline
Inform church and secure commitment to the process
Work the plans
Evaluation & Follow-up Stage
Gather results from church (attendance, salvations, baptisms, finances, etc.)
Partner with Association to evaluate church efforts
Meet with church leadership to evaluate revitalization process
